Mr. Horacio de Gouveia had the dream of starting his own company for many years, so after working in the distribution business for some years and the experience he gained by doing this, he established Sunny Trading in 1983. At first he run the company from his house. Soon it started picking up and got help from his wife and father-in-law to help with the distribution. By 1987 the company grew significantly and needed to move to a bigger space to supply the demands. After a decade their son started working in the company and a couple of years later their daughters one by one also joined the company.
Sunny Trading is a family owned and operated company which focuses on the import, distribution and Brand representation of high quality competitive priced products. We are located and operate from Curacao and additionally we also do business and export to a selected group of businesses in Aruba and St. Martin. With over 35 employees we can assure an extensive collaboration to provide a superior service.
As a family business, the relationship with our employees, customers and suppliers is really important to us. We keep a close bond with our retailers and our local community for the mutual understanding of their needs and desires. They are the core of our business and it’s their trust which makes our business successful.
Our customers vary from supermarkets, minimarkets, warehouses, department stores, garages, car washes, tire shops, contractors, body shops, restaurants, drugstores, cosmetic stores and pet shops.
OUR STAFF
Our staff consists of a multi-lingual team who speak English, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese and our local dialect Papiamentu. This ensures we speak the language necessary to deal with our surrounding markets, clients and suppliers. We have a team of 35 employees who strive to give the best service to our clients every day. Integrity, motivation, respect, pro-activeness, communication and consistency are very important to us.
IMPORT AND EXPORT
We import from: The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Austria, Turkey, Thailand, United States of America, Chile, Peru and Colombia. All products are stored in our warehouse for distribution and or export to the other islands.
DISTRIBUTION
Our distribution center is located on the island of Curacao. We have our own trucks and vans and manage the daily distribution to our local customers without any additional costs. We strive to deliver within 24-36 hours of placing an order. For our customers on the other islands, we provide the service of arranging the export of their goods taking into account their requests.
OUR MARKETS
We operate mainly on the islands of Curaçao and Bonaire but we also do business in Aruba and St. Martin. Our customers vary from supermarkets, minimarkets, warehouses, garages, car washes, tire shops, contractors, body shops, restaurants, drugstores, cosmetic stores and pet shops.
